This inaugural event brought together a diverse group of healthcare professionals, including hematologists, genetic counselors, nurse practitioners, RN’s, social workers, and more. This landmark event fostered enthusiasm and collaboration, sparking meaningful conversations between providers who may not have had the chance to connect otherwise.

The workshop featured a variety of sessions, including education on the diagnosis and symptoms of sVWD, management challenges – such as prophylaxis, GI bleeding, and reproductive issues – and case studies. Attendees also heard updates from industry professionals, and well as from the Foundation’s research committee members.

One of the highlights was the Patient Panel, where six Foundation members shared their personal experiences and perspectives in the hopes of improving patient-centered care. The event also offered fun activities, including Game Night, magic, wellness activities and live music, creating a balance of learning and leisure.

The success of this workshop has set the stage for future events, and we are excited to announce that the Provider Education Workshop on Severe VWD will return November 14-16, 2025!
